JCS was established in 2010.
Our mission is to serve as the connection and the gathering point between Japanese and non-Japanese people in the Salem area through various cultural experiences.
We present the cultural experiences such as Japanese drums, dance, food culture, calligraphy, and art to the community.
It is also our objective to foster ties within the Japanese community in Salem. We wish to rediscover and continue our Japanese culture, not only for ourselves, but also for the next generation of local Japanese.
At the same time, we wish to introduce the Oregon way of life to newly-arrived Japanese people in Salem.
Join us to fortify friendly understanding between the US and Japan, and to build a fulfilled Japanese community in Salem.
